APL 2026 GRAVEL-DISCOVERY

Gravel-Discovery APL is perfect for riders who want the APL experience without pushing their bikes—and themselves—to extreme limits. It’s still an adventure, still a test of endurance, but designed to be more accessible to those on heavier machines. If you’re looking for a long-distance gravel challenge, with visiting of POI mixed in, good time with a community of riders, this is for you.

FORMAT

Gravel-Discovery APL follows a similar route to the Traditional APL, covering Lithuania’s border region. However, this version avoids the toughest technical sections and instead prioritizes scenic gravel roads, visits to POI, hard-packed dirt, and manageable off-road sections. It’s not a race but a track-based ride focused on the experience, the challenge, and the team spirit. You can join even if you don’t have a team (we will make a team of other participants with no team, as solo riding is not allowed). And you’ll have the opportunity to share the road with like-minded riders.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Gravel-Dicovery APL is designed for larger adventure motorcycles. The terrain will consist mostly of gravel roads (80-90% of the TRADITIONAL APL route), hard-packed dirt, and light off-road sections, avoiding technical enduro tracks. Riders should be prepared for long hours in the saddle, changing road conditions, and unpredictable weather, but this track gives riders POI to stop and explore Lithuania's hidden gems.

• A suitable motorcycle. A road-legal ADV or dual-sport bike capable of handling gravel and off-road terrain (e.g., Africa Twin, GS, Tenere, V-Strom, etc.).

• Reliable equipment. Navigation, tools, and a first-aid kit are essential.

• Endurance and preparation. You’ll be riding long distances each day, around 300 km. Max. (450 one day)

• A sense of adventure. Although this version is easier than Traditional APL, it will still let you feel the enduro spirit

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Each evening, participants arrive at a designated overnight location, where they can rest, share experiences, and prepare for the next day. During the day, gas stations, POI will be marked along the route. Accommodation options vary from campsites to rural tourism homesteads.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?
- Transport for participants’ personal belongings – tents, sleeping bags, spare parts – 1 bag (up to 15 kg, up to 60L)
- Breakfast and dinner at each night’s stop
- A place to put your tent, camping fee.
- Permits from the State Border Guard Service (VSAT)
- Pre-planned and VSAT-approved track in *.gpx format

- Travel to and from the start/finish location
- Motorcycle transportation in case of breakdown·
- Fuel
