FORMAT

Traditional APL is a route that takes motorcyclists around Lithuania’s border. This journey is not a race. It’s a track-based ride where the key elements are experience, challenges, and community. Participants follow a pre-planned route, making it a team-based experience. Riding solo? No problem! We’ll match you with other solo participants or existing teams. Each section of the journey unveils a different border landscape – from dense forests to open fields, from sandy stretches to gravel roads, and sometimes even mud and water crossings.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

This is not a casual weekend ride. It’s a physical and mental test requiring endurance, preparation, and the ability to handle unexpected challenges on the road. Participants will face diverse terrain types, unforeseen obstacles, and, of course, unpredictable weather conditions. This is not extreme enduro, but it won’t be an easy stroll either.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

  • A suitable motorcycle. A registered and road-legal ENDURO-type bike with aggressive off-road tires (e.g., from CRF250L to Tenere/AfricaTwin etc.).

  • Reliable equipment. Navigation, tools, and a first-aid kit are not just recommendations – they’re necessities.

  • Endurance and preparation. This journey demands both physical and mental resilience.

  • A thirst for adventure. If you seek comfort, this event is not for you.

Traditional APL is not for everyone. This is not a show, not a picture-perfect Instagram trip – it’s a real test of what it means to be an ‘enduro rider.’ If you believe you can take it on, we’re waiting for you. If you have doubts, maybe it’s worth taking APL Gravel(or not!).

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Each night, participants will stay in a different location across Lithuania, providing a chance to rest, share experiences, and make necessary bike repairs. Along the daily route, designated fuel stops will be marked where participants can refuel and grab a snack. Accommodation varies – from campsites to rural tourism lodges, depending on the route of the day.

One lap around the border. One motorcycle. Your team. Just you and the road.
